After reviewing how email worked, I used an instant messaging service called "Windows Live Messenger" to conduct two discussions with two other IT students, discussing the uses, advantages and disadvantages of emails. (See images) The advantages of using an instant messaging service to discuss this was that the conversation could be discussed in real time - this means that none of the three participants of the conversations would need to wait for another participant to recieve the comment and send a reply. However, one disadvantage of using this service is that you have to stay connected to the internet for the duration of the discussion and therefore can prove to be a very costly service (if the user has a dial up connection).
